This site is dedicated to the memory of  CHRISTIE M. TOLOSKY whose beautiful smile, friendly way, and loving hand were taken from her family and friends at the age of  24 in June 2005.   Christie died suddenly from a heart condition called Long QT syndrome that she/we didn't know she had.

As a result of Christie's death from Long QT, which is genetic, it has been found in several family members, some now on  beta-blockers and others with implanted cardiac defibrillators.  As a result we have committed to working with the American Heart Association   ( www.heart.org ) to raise funds for continued heart disease research and with the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome Foundation    (www.SADS.org) to educate the public and raise awareness of this silent killer.

2nd Annual CHRISTIE's  HEARTOBERFEST  - was held on Saturday September 22, 2007.  The weather was great and the turnout even better - - over 140 people were at the Columbia pavilion in the Saratoga Spa State Park.   A big Thank You to all who played a part.  Our silent auction items raised almost $2,000, the Weekend in Montreal tickets raised almost $600, the table raffle was a big winner and our "online" donations were $1,725 to date (SADS - not the Heart Walk).  On November 13th, we received a check for $50 which bumped our total to $13,001 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donations for Heartoberfest go directly to SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome).  Go to   www.SADS.org

Christie's Team also walked in the American Heart Association Heart Walk  and raised another $5,995 that went to the AHA.

Christie Tolosky was born January 29, 1981 to Craig & Barbara Tolosky of Ballston Lake NY and has a brother Nick and sister Melissa.  Christie was educated at Chango Elementary, Koda Jr. High and Shenendehowa High School,  then graduated from Siena College in 2003.

CHRISTIE M. TOLOSKY '03 Memorial Scholarship at Siena College is now in place.  We worked with the great folks at the Siena Alumni office, especially fellow alum and Director Nate Maloney and  finalized the criteria and guidelines.  The school accommodated our request and dated  Christie's scholarship agreement January 29, 2007 - - her birthday - - she would have been 26.  A large part of the funding has come from Festa Vino, an  annual wine-tasting fundrasier at Siena and the scholarship balance is now in excess of $40,000..

Heartoberfest 2006

On October 14, 2006 we had a 60 walker team in the American Heart Association Heart Walk in Albany NY and then hosted the first  annual CHRISTIE's  HEART-OBERFEST to raise money for SADS to help them educate the public and raise awareness of this silent killer. We plan to hold our Oktoberfest type event each year.   If you care about saving someone's life, and appreciate that we do not want our devastating loss of Christie to be in vain,  this should be of interest to you and we would ask you to check back often, and spread this to as many people as you can that you think want to save lives.
